Sambassadeur - European LP

It’s taken Sambassadeur two years to deliver European but my word has it been worth it. It is absolutely stunning. Awash with soothing strings, shimmering keys and soaring female vocals, it’s orchestral dream pop at its very finest. New single Days sets the tone; strident, catchy and beautiful but Sandy dunes is even better; its Spector-esq production and tender words leaving the lucky listener giddy like a lovestruck teen. Fans of Camera Obscura will enjoy the lushness present throughout European but the band are no copyists and with final track, Small Parade they show that they can turn a dab hand to midtempo Americana too. Just nine tracks but all killer, no filler and if a better album comes out this year I will be very surprised.
