The Radar Brothers
The Illustrated Garden Chemikal Underground

Article written by Ged M - Jun 1, 2010

The Radar Brothers: The Illustrated Garden
The Radar Brothers - a ‘slo-core’ band like Low - have been around since 1993, and in fact are the longest serving band on the Chemikal Underground roster. They split up in 2008 but Jim Putnam found two new members and reformed the band, although on this evidence you’d have to ask why. All the songs are pleasant while they’re playing but so strangely unremarkable that it’s hard to have anything to say about them – there’s a mild psychedelic tingle and some Americana influence but it’s reflective of one of those towns you pass through in the US that is conspicuously American but has nothing of interest to see there. You’d only purposely go back to ‘Horses Warriors’ here; the rest has already escaped my memory.
