This Frontier Needs Heroes
The Future Heroic Endeavours

Over the years Brooklyn NY has produced some impressive music talent. I will not start listing them as there will be angry phone calls from the bands that I have left off the list.

‘This Frontier Needs Heroes’ can add themselves to that list. The brother and sister duo already have one album under their belt and this second album recorded in an old schoolhouse and entitled ‘The Future’ is as impressive as the reputation that they have built for themselves since arriving on the music scene in 2009.

Stand out tracks include ‘Calamity Jane’ with the echoing lyrics ‘She wasn’t a sweetheart, she wasn’t a saint’ accompanied by a beautiful strumming guitar that sets the scene perfectly. This album isn’t just about frontierswomen though. It embraces all subject matter and projects it in a psychedelic folk style that is right up my street.

‘Don’t Treat Me Like A Dog’ and the haunting ‘Space Baby’ are return to again and again tracks as is ‘The Secret Book’.

The album art is in 3D but it really does not need any silly gimmicks. The music speaks for itself. With their wonderful harmonies and intuitive sound this musical frontier doesn’t need heroes any longer as they have found them in Brad and Jessica Lauretti.
