Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen

Tu Fawning

After a brief shuffling of venues I begrudgingly find myself in Hoxton Squre Bar and Kitchen. Tu Fawning, from Oregon take to the stage with a plethora of instruments including trumpet, violin, keyboards, drums and samplers but they play each instrument with such precise intent it cements the fact there's nothing gimmicky about this band.

They're like a grizzlier Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors showing grainy 8mm film, a more pterodactyl-like Wildbirds and Peacedrums and they exude an intense demeanour that catches your breath and deeply inhales it.

Particular highlights were I Know You Know and Just Too Much. They're intoxicating, highly inventive, tuneful and absolutely brilliant.
