Have an Eccentronic Delia Derbyshire Day!

Article written by Matt H - Jan 3, 2013

Delia Darlings - Come on! Let's be havin' you!
Sheffield has a fine tradition of electronic music, so it's only right it should be at the heart of a celebration of the queen of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop Delia Derbyshire.

On 18th January the Queens Social Club plays host to locally-based celebrators of Lancastrian history the Eccentronic Research Council, making one of the last live performances of their 1812 Underture with Maxine Peake (we've seen it once already and it's cracking). They're part of a bill with "Delia Darlings" with three Mancunian artists presenting their own Derbyshire-inspired work, not to mention a screening of documentary "The Delian Mode".

The Delia Darlings show is also wandering around other northern cities this month. Catch it at:

Sat 12 Jan - 8pm Band on the Wall, MANCHESTER

Wed 16 Jan - 6.30pm FACT, LIVERPOOL – free event!

Fri 18 Jan – Queen’s Social Club, SHEFFIELD supporting Eccentronic Research Council

Sun 20 Jan - 8pm Star and Shadow, NEWCASTLE
