Give It Ups Kickstart 2012 for Odd Box

Article written by Paul M - Jan 2, 2012

Give It Ups
Give It Ups
2011 was pretty busy for Odd Box Records with releases galore and clearly 2012 looks like being equally hectic. Starting as they mean to go on, they have a free double blast of lo-fi pop from The Give It Ups. You can download 'Let's Be Frank' and 'If Everything Ends' from here.

If that wasn't enough they have the following new releases coming in early 2012:

Proto Idiot (BOX010)
The 2nd Proto Idiot release is a follow up album to the 9 song 'Is You Is You My EP'. More snotty guitar rock n roll from Andrew Anderson (he of The Hipshakes). Due early February.

The Rosie Taylor Project - Twin Beds (BOX011)
Twin Beds is one we are really looking forward to, the new album from The Rosie Taylor Project, due out in February. We've followed the RTPs for years now. They may not be prolific but they are highly recommended and featured in our recent article predicting who should rock your world in 2012 (read article here)

Baaneex - Weird Dance Plus (ODD031)
Baaneex are winding down to an end. With one member soon to depart for foreign shores this final hurrah collects 4 more 'Weird Dances' and a couple of other stray recordings. Their first 'Weird Dance' EP was released a year ago on Odd Box. This final release is due in February.

Pale Man Made - Red Box Secrets (BOX012)
Pale Man Made from Newcastle mine a seam of pop tunes last touched by Urusie Yatsura. Coming in May.

And after this they have more releases in 2012 from Sock Puppets, Charles of the Ritz and The Give It Ups. And they're just the ones that they are able to talk about just now.

Londoners can also catch the label's Which Way Is Up! shows at The Wilmington Arms on the third Friday of every month - already booked for 2012 are Chips For The Poor, Chapter 24, Diaphragm Failure, The Ethical Debating Society, The Feathers, Bordeauxxx, Colour Me Wednesday, The Ritas, Foxes!, Post War Glamour Girls, Benjamin Shaw, Dignan Porch and Baaneex.
