After reaching the grand old age of 3 and launching a new record label after last year’s festival, this year’s line up for the Palimpsest Festival is an hallucinatory blend of traditional music and outer limit sounds once again held in the majestic All Saints Church. As their first ever English show Kemialliset Ystävät will be gracing the festival with their psychedelic Finnish free folk. Harvest Time has also secured a rare solo performance from the legendary Richard Youngs who is currently performing sublime a capella sets. They’ve got a suitably rare set from Leeds drone rock collective Vibracathedral Orchestra, free jazz from Scotland based Tight Meat, traditional pieces from Directing Hand, a duo performance from DRO Boat Notchers and having just completed a record, Lionshare will be performing a set of new material with special guests. Opening the day is Dicky Deegan a troubadour, Uilleann pipe maker and player completing the link between traditional and experimental musics.
