Truck rules the waves: benefit/fundraiser July 21/22

Article written by Ged M
Jul 21, 2007.

Owning to the severe flooding of the village of Steventon, Oxfordshire, the promoters have had to postpone the Truck Festival that should have happened this weekend. However, they've managed to salvage some of the performances for a benefit/fundraiser in Oxford this weekend (July 21/22). This is what they say:

"The show must go on. Amazingly, given the short notice, through hell and high water, an alternative Truck event will go ahead at Brookes University, Headington, Oxford. This will serve as a benefit / fundraiser in order for the re-scheduled event in September to be as legendary as this weekend would have been, and to enable us to contribute to the causes that the Truck Festival supports. Also because some of the brilliant acts have made arrangements and have already travelled (from NYC in Garth & Maud Hudson's case, and from LA in Brian Jonestown Massacre's case), it'd be a tragedy for them to return home without playing some music."
