A first outing for some Merseyside muckers of Hot Club De Paris and they set out their stall pretty clearly. Musically there are elements of many recent successes (Maximo Park, Bloc Party, the Rakes) with their bouncy rhythms but it�s lyrically where Go Faster >> focus.. First up, accompanied by pounding drums and swirling Bontempi keys, the boys poke fun at the Heat mag reading C-list celebrity obsessed (�She starts Monday in my team / She thinks Sunday she�ll get on the big screen�) but it�s the pretty explanatory B-side Heather�s Loaded = McCartney�s Blown it that may ruffle feathers. Still, with the line �Can�t you see it�s just a song?� and no doubt a protruding tongue we�ll forgive them their impudence, even if the high profile divorcees might not. All in all, Go Faster >> just about earn their stripes...
