1000 Robota are a teen trio from Hamburg, with a brand of powerfully rhythmic Germanic post-punk. This five track EP reminds me of the apocalyptic madness of the Birthday Party, the angularity of the Fire Engines and the electronic post-punk of Holger Hiller’s old band, Palais Schaumburg, whose ‘Wir Bauen Eine Neue Stadt’ they cover. The only words you’ll recognise are “liebe”, “schiesse” and “oh fuck” but you can easily translate the aggression and tension that has the singer, Anton, finishing gigs with hands bloody from his guitar.
