Acid Glasses
My Pale Garden Stroll On 7”

One of the influences listed on his website by Nick Burk (aka Ouija Allin), from Memphis, is “smoking weed” and you must say that it shows! The debut single ‘My Pale Garden’ is a mix of ideas – tricksy effects, changing speed, catchy chorus – all wrapped up in woozy, psychedelic distortion. It sounds like a mess on first play but the ideas are brilliant and, though it’s a mindfuck, you get sucked up into its weird logic. ‘JPEG Hoarder’ is metronymic, minimal, Marc Bolan-ish rock’n’roll while ‘Happy Accident’ is cartoonish chamber pop that has a down-the-rabbithole freakiness.

They were meant to play some shows in the UK recently but were deported at Heathrow, so rather than sell a tour mixtape, they’re offering it for download here:
