Baby Monster

Every now and again a band produces something which has a huge influence on a pocket of the music scene. For example, a while ago it seemed like every band in London had hitched aboard the Albion with Pete and Carl with the result that Camden and Shoreditch were awash with dishevelled unkempt geezers in pork pie hats peddling urchin pop. The lack of originality was a bleedin’ nightmare. Now it’s clear that MGMT have made a significant number of acts realise there’s gold in them grand electro pop hills and amongst those chiselling away down in the anthemic indie dance crossover mine shaft are Baby Monster. She Comes Alive is all uplifting harmonies, medium paced drum machine effects and big production and for thirty seconds or so it’s ok but it’s way too repetitive, safe and predictable to warrant a full listen let alone repeated plays...
