First heard on the download giveaway ‘Wizard of Aahs’ EP, it’s been considerable cleaned up since then and is now a single on hot pink vinyl. This is insidious Cure-ish bubblegum dance-pop, with Reggie Youngblood sounding ever more like Robert Smith, and it has a pogo-tastic, catchy charm, although I’m still not sure if they live up to the hype of recent months. Their cover of Sophie B Hawkins’ ‘Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover’ on the flipside shows that you can’t polish a turd though you can get a better scented jobbie.
