It’s nice to get free gifts, and even better when they’re actually worth something. Two tracks from Clemence Freschard’s Click Click album are available from the esteemed WIAIWYA label at nil cost, and are therefore a no-brainer for download (mind you, you might consider buying the parent album when you hear the quality). She’s a singer from Dijon, France and collaborator with Stanley Brinks and David Tattersall, with the former blowing his sax on the first track. There’s a slightly calypso flavour to ‘Me + Depth = 2’, which she sings with a voice of beautiful ennui - the sensual way she pronounces “cou-cou-noot” is incredible! ‘Who The World Belongs To’ takes you somewhere deeper and darker, an ultra-catchy pirate story where the melodies are shot through with darkness. The songs are rich and atmospheric, and if you were seduced by her singing on David Tattersall's recent album, you'll be hooked by her solo performances. Magnifique!
