Don’t be misled by the name. This Birmingham band are another indie guitar band in love with 80s New Wave. Their sub-atomic love song ‘Electrons and Particles’ is all Joy Division tension crossed with the melodic poppiness of Cure. Yes it’s catchy and John Kennedy-friendly but it’s just the tip of a very conservative and formulaic wave of music that’s sucking the “independent” out of “indie”.
