Cue Fanfare
Robot/ Leda and the Swan self-released CD

A debut single from Cue Fanfare, an inspired match of Rowena Dugdale and Rob Williams (formerly Santa Dog) and Alan Strawbridge and Holly McIntosh (from Schnauser). I always thought there was something very 4AD in the elegant, shimmering pop of Santa Dog and ‘Robot’ seems to continue the tradition; the bright, sparkling guitars and Rowena’s precise vocals steadily build the tension until eventually the song bursts like fireworks in your head and champagne in your mouth. ‘Leda and the Swan’, a tale of swan-on-girl sex, is Greek myth with pop rhythms and a certain spacey feel. This is unconventional, enigmatic, intelligent pop with great tunes.
