We've been championing David Cronenberg's Wife for a number of years now but we still seem to be a (relatively) lone voice in a sea of mehs. Shame, because their grim folk comes with a wink and a slap; amusing one minute, shocking the next, and worthy of a larger audience. Sweden is the final track to be taken from last year's second album. It's a stream of consciousness with quip after quip ("our mouths are like two magnets, well two north poles", "the elixir of life is omega 3 fish oils. I go into pubs and order pints of it. Still feel fucking awful, though now I'm going to live till I'm 124"), propelled along by a two note riff. The EP is basically five takes on the one 'song' - 3 remixes and a Welsh version - and Mark Lamarr once described them on Radio 2 as 'where genius meets idiocy'. He was half right. They're actually right clever bastards.
