Catch Your Cold Fortuna Pop! 7”/ download

'Catch Your Cold' is a spurting soda fountain of wickedly addictive C86 indiepop, a two-and-a-half-minute burst of sonic Fanta giving you hiccups of pleasure. It's simple, sharp and more-ish, propelled by a bass that wears go-faster stripes and with cascades of sparkling 80s guitar sounding like Paul Court of the Primitives in his prime. That's the good part. 'Crying Song' is billed as a 90-second episode of absurbist comedy as Stuart Lee sobs uncontrollably backed by the band, but it sounds more like a cynical space-filling jam session where they're mimicking Queen on a bad night in 1974. Play the 'A' only.
