Another band from Worcester Rock City, following And What Will Be Left of Them? and Zebedy Rays, this is pitch-shifting post-punk with clattering stop-start rhythms: think Fall-esque pop with Blur-ish mannerisms. ‘Animal Songs Aren’t Dead’ jitters along like a deadline-chasing student trying to offset sleep with large espressos and Red Bull chasers. Interesting stuff from a humdrum town, though AWWBLOT? will always be the Worcester band for me.
