‘Abstract’ reminds me of countless 70s new wavers – The Barracudas, Martha and the Muffins and The Regents to name three, and the vocalist has a voice reminiscent of Jon Anderson, of Yes and Jon and Vangelis fame. So this is certainly interesting – but is it any good? Yes. A tidy song, with a great tune. The flip, ‘Fast Forward’, is a less frantic, more spacey song, let down by some irregular drumming, but saved by bits of Farmish guitar. All in all, a release that stands out from your run-of-the mill ‘indie’.
Another review done. Then, as is my wont in order to avoid preconceptions, I finally read the accompanying press release. I read that all five members of this band are aged 13 or 14.
