Susumu Yokota
A Flower White Lo Recordings

Article written by Ged M - Apr 24, 2009

This is goth-tinged electronica, with the vocals of Nancy Elizabeth adding a honeyed, folky feel. The booming percussion and synth washes make ‘A Flower White’ memorable, though not as unforgettable as the fabulous Seeland remix, which is ethereal, melodic and slightly shoegazey - a real left-field pop gem. The various remixes have an Eno-ish ambient feel, apart from the instrumental Montag mix of ‘Love Tendrilises’ that sounds almost like Vaughn Williams, while Oen Sujet’s remix of ‘A Ray of Light’ makes it sound like the Clangers. But that Seeland remix is one you must hear.
