Sweet Sister Delia

An appropriately chirpy tribute to one of the more loveable characters on the London indie scene, Delia Sparrow, The Loves grill their cheese till it bubbles and pops on Sweet Sister Delia. Pitched somewhere between This is Pop era XTC and everyone’s favourite Belgian, Plastic Bertrand’s brand of giggle punk, it’s as frothy and affable as the little lady herself. Unfortunately the other two tracks here, a demo from 2001 (Low) and a bluesy 70s Stones style spin-off effort (God Save Our Souls by Simon Love and the Turkeys), are little more than padding. Still, who cares, all three are free anyway from the Fortuna Pop website.
