The New Royal Family
Anyone Fancy A Chocolate Digestive? Filthy Little Angels 7”

Article written by Ged M - Oct 8, 2007

For a rudimentary punk-pop song, it’s staggering that 13 writers – including Ludwig von Beethoven – share the credit. Apparently the work of an "indie supergroup" – members of the Boyfriends, Luxembourg, Gay Dad among others – it has an instant, catchy charm that is funny the first day you hear it and will have you gnawing off your own tits in horror every time after that (think Splodgenessabounds, Toy Dolls, The Automatic). Alcohol must have played a great part in its composition and inebriation is certainly the only way to hear it. We received a bribe of a (broken) chocolate digestive to review it and we’re so fickle that, if had been milk, this might have been single of the week rather than Frisbee of the day. The B-side ‘The Cornflake Family’ (only 6 composers) is better, sewing together the limbs of the Sex Pistols to the body of the Shangri Las and adding Johnny Thunders guitar riffs for hair. All together now: I know a song that’ll get on your nerves, get on your nerves…
