Tigercats from East London have Hexicon and Esiotrot as their top two chums on myspace and as SoundsXP has hosted gigs by both these bands (and a single by the latter), I’d be surprised if they aren’t actually just a blended cocktail of the two. The press release drops a quote from elsewhere that they are “improving on the kind of music Hefner used to make” which in the whey-faced indie schmindie world we inhabit is fighting talk. However there is still something very enjoyable about their slightly shambling Pete Shelley doing indiepop delivery and Konny Huck does indeed have a hook. I’m not sure Mr Hayman would feel too threatened but he’d certainly approve.
