The Travelling Band
The Horizon, Me and You Too Pure

Article written by Paul M - Aug 2, 2010

Travelling Band
Travelling Band
By all rights Manchester's sextet The Travelling Band should be strung up by their beards. Why? For having a crap name, taken from a 1970 track by the fuzzy upper lipped Californian roots rockers Creedence Clearwater Revival, who were responsible for too many stoner wigouts for us to forgive them for the genius of Bad Moon Rising. Fortunately they don't sound like those honky tonk twonks and soothe our furrowed monobrows instead with some lovely west coast pop. There are hints of the Coral at their most non-Beefheart bothering best and I'm not sure whether to hit the open road with the driving riffs and catchy hooks of The Horizon, Me and You or snuggle up with the swoonsome Daylight. Either way, I'm lovin' it, man.
