Walking With A Killer self-released 7”

Not only do we have one recent single by a Deal sister (Kelley’s fabulous ‘Fallout and Fire’), we now have two. Kim performed a solo show at ATP a month ago and brought copies of her first solo single to sell. A ridiculously limited edition, each side is very different; the more Breeders-ish ‘Walking With A Killer’ quickly builds up a spooky atmosphere with guitar and bass throbbing like an frightened heartbeat while the instrumental ‘Dirty Hessians’ is a krautrock rhythm liberally doused in dirtied-down and fuzzed-up bass. It was just interesting on first listen but three or four spins later this is really starting to grow on me.
