It's not often that Warp venture out of their bleep happy world but in Toronto's Born Ruffians they obviously saw something worth putting the headphones and twindecks to one side for. A frantic paced effort with clipped drums and Afro-tinged rhythms Hummingbird shares the dancefloor with Vampire Weekend's A Punk and isn't one for the club footed among us. On the flipside, Knife, is relatively sedate by comparison, being a rather nice yodeled mid-tempo soul shuffler.
