What is “Chip Hop”? Well, take one London-based graphic designer/MC called Dels, add Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and hey presto - a new musical sub-genre with a catchy name is born. Then release the end product on Moshi Moshi. Excited? Don’t be. The promising intent to fuse Goddard’s magic box of electro sounds and beats to Dels’ laid-back flow falls flat because the lyrics are completely devoid of either wit or social observation while the music is too uninspiring to rescue the package.
