Yet Death Will Seize The Doctor Too

I can't recommend this band enough. This is their second ep that I am reviewing and it more than matches their first 'By medicine life may be prolonged'. Following on the medicine themed title, 'Yet death will seize the doctor too' is a dose of four tunes that are filled with intelligent lyrics and mesmerising music.

The opening track 'Bad Medicine' is my favourite. It's how I envisage gypsy, fairground folk sounds to be. The persistent music belongs to the likes of the carousel ride as the singer asks, 'What do you seek'? It's really atmospheric and engaging.

This is followed by 'Sky falls down' which is littered with superstitions and fears accompanied by a determined drum beat, quirky string arrangements and the presence of a clarinet I believe. The supporting vocals are an added effective ingredient.

'Traitors Tale' is beautifully composed and accompanies soothing vocals that say, 'I don't want to go to sleep tonight' but this is the kind of song that could send you to sleep, in a positive way!

It closes with 'Iron Man' which is a haunting track and the perfect end to another impressive helping of sounds from this alternative folk trio who go from strength to strength.
