Don’t be fooled by the fact that these Western Australians have supported Happy Mondays, these lads are definitely not the melon twisting types. In fact, melancholy ballad “Don’t Fight It” is one of those reflective piano ballads that could easily play on the OC while someone with suspicious cheekbones squints and gets like, really angsty. “Get Us Home” is darker, Morriconne and Motown-inflected, and conjurs some nice spaghetti western vibes. Both are commercial and just a bit too sugary for anyone who takes less than four lumps in their tea. Radio Two awaits.
