Their home addresses may have New York sort codes but there’s something deliciously sun kissed about this preppy four piece. With clipped snare percussion and floating shimmering keys Mansard Roof is a wonderful Afro tinged follow-up to their similarly off kilter debut Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa that’ll get even the least lithe of limbs skipping nineteen to the dozen. Bizarrely this is not even listed as a double A-side but it should be as on the flip, Ladies of Cambridge is likewise awesome. The drumming is once again prominent but the rhythm is more western art rock, with spiky guitars dueling with jagged violin and viola and a nice false ending to cap it off. The self produced album, out in January, should be a cracker.
