I have a natural bias as I love the festival, but I think it remains a completely excellent event and, when you consider it is a gathering of 150,000 young people, remarkably uncommercial. I still find there is a tremendous sense of peaceful anarchy and freedom about the place and that the average punter is valued and respected. Mean Fiddler's involvement is necessary but hasn't really eaten away at the real heart of the festival.
Incidentally, Eavis gets just 60 grand a year - which isn't too extortionate considering he must devote his life to it.
My top bands were Morrissey, Stills and probably Hope of the States and I clocked up a quite dissapointing total of three completely naked people.
