First turn off system restore if using XP and delete all restoration points. Viruses and trojans will still exist in the restoration points and will still show on scans

Get the latest virus definitions for you Anti-virus client. AVG Free or Avast are the best freeware ones.

Download and Run and/or . This will work in conjunction with your virus client. Follow the instructions that come up on the screen.

Scan the PC for viruses. Hopefully all will be okay

Downlaod and install a firewall! Try Filesclab or Zone Alarm Free.
