Main focus was on Guy Chambers and Rufus Wainwright. My fave lowlight wasn't even the soon to be legendary bit where Rufus decides that it's a good idea to randomly insert the title of Roxette's greatest hits into a song called World War 3 because he can't think of anything else. (Guy Chambers, who clearly didn't make his money disagreeing with the 'talent', reckons said "don't bore us, get to the chorus" "adds a touch of Oscar Wilde".)
No the best bit is where they feel the need to turn to the Rhyming Dictionary to find a rhyme for 'battle', which according to Guy is " a bastard to rhyme" at which point the four year old on my lap instantly comes up with 'rattle' and 'cattle' while Rufus and Guy opt for, erm, 'saddle'.
"but saddle doesn't rhyme with battle, dad"
"no love, you're right, it doesn't"...Statistics: Posted by SPT — Mon Jul 04, 2011 9:42 am
