*Digs out 300 copies of Looking Glass album from back bedroom...*
I remember 25 years ago wandering into a huge Carrefour in Dieppe or wherever and seeing a record section and thinking how weird it was, supermarkets selling vinyl. Of course CDs then showed up in Tescos and co. Where will all this end?
I moved to Penge 16 years ago. Then there was 1 second hand record shop, 1 independent new record shop and Woolworths. Within 15 minutes walk there was a further one independent new shop and two second hand shops and one trinket shop with a limited range of CDs. Now there's a Sainsburys with about 100 CDs, virtually all back catalogue and one second hand shop which I never go in because it's so ridiculously overpriced.
Charity shops seem to have replaced dedicated record shops as the place to buy stuff.Statistics: Posted by Bovine Juice — Tue Oct 02, 2012 6:42 pm
