diminishing number of collectors. With the revenue to be gained from Spotify alone there'll be little incentive for labels (be it huge multinationals or the likes of Odd Box) to invest in new acts. Presumably bands will in future be able to record and upload straight to Spotify, but will this be worth their while? If Spotify grows, will it, on it's own, be viable for new bands to make recordings and upload them? Could it gain a monopoly and then start to put it's prices up massively?
I've no idea, but it doesn't strike me as sustainable as the main source for purchased music that it seems to be aiming at.Statistics: Posted by milchman — Wed Dec 04, 2013 7:10 pm
