somewhere along the line i think he realised that he was going to die alone (or perhaps surrounded by a pile of freshly slaughtered bodies) and changed tack. when we started a band in school he started to hang around our rehearsals and signified his good intentions by making us guitar leads and evenyually even an amplifier. he taught himself a lot about recording and apparently now runs a recording studio somewhere. after university he eventually stopped stalking us and went off to live a relatively happy life. he still calls occasionally and i humour him if i can.

sometime after we left school i found out that he was being systematically abused by his parents.

the basketball player school hero type guy left school not long after that, shacked up with my hot 22 year old a-level english teacher (he was 17)and became a junkie. he now runs a pub somewhere in the midlands with a woman twice his age. the teacher was fired.

i was bullied mercilessly for years by a guy called peter. i fucking hated him, he made my life an utter misery.

found out years later that his dad was this demented god squadder who used to beat the shit out of him on a regular basis.

no, this doesn't excuse peter bullying me. but it helps explain it. i doubt if offering his tub thumping psycho of a dad 'parenting advice' would have helped much. probably would have got peter another kicking.

last thing i hear was peter was in prison for street robbery. poor fucker, didn't really have much of a hope really.

so yeah, i think this scheme might have some good results here and there, but not sure it's the answer. tragically not sure what is.

Well kind of. I remember when my son was being bullied at primary by this anti-christ knee high shite (I love children but he was the exception to the rule) Anyhoo he inflicted several injuries on my lad to the point that Chaz would get sick on the way to school everyday and beg me not to send him in. The school would not help me in any way whatsoever. It took some time to get the bully's name out of Chaz but when I did I went straight up to the mother in the playground and pulled her to one side. I told her in no uncertain terms that if my son came home with so much as a scratch on him that I would do to her whatever her son did to mine. The supermum got the message. Her devil went nowhere near my son again. Of course i'm not suggesting that this is the correct way to deal with bullies but I do believe that the parents of bullies should have a spotlight shone on them to make them see the damage that their offspring can do. It was only when I made her believe that the consequences of her son's actions would have an effect on her that she decided to do something about it. I think the parents of bullies do have the luxury of detachment and this is something that has to be readdressed because the victim's parents have no such luxury. I felt everything that Chaz went through and more.
