"Their songs are full of longing for that feeling of first love (which you have probably never experienced since), full of reminiscences of seemingly endless summerdays spent outdoors, walking through meadows full of wildflowers, picking wild strawberries, lying underneath swaying cherrytrees, staring at the sun listening to the crickets sing ... They are also tinged with a little sadness, a little nostalgia, the realization that those happier times perhaps won't come back so easily, if ever ... "
The Catalysts are one Ulric Kennedy, former member of The Mixers and The Golden Dawn, sometime co-producer of The Happy Couple, Roy Moller and The Void and occasional live performer with DHK and The Parsonage amongst others.
The Melting Caps is the solo project of David from The Soft Close Ups making a curious blend of electro pop and melodramatic indie pop.
"Songs like I Wanted to Be Your Boyfriend ooze quality and if Dave Gedge produced synth based pop it may well have sounded like this"
La famille Catastrophe is the solo project of Simon from electro-indie-poppers Mutt Ramon. He has recently been joined on vocals by Emma from dance act moontown and on bass bv Tim in what some have called Dorchester's first supergroup.
"an excellent example of home grown lo-fi pop music"
