Top 5 original versions of songs covered by The Beatles. I've stuck to songs that were covered on studio recorded records released during the bands lifetime; so nothing from the Hamburg live recordings or BBC sessions.

Considering the material they wrote, listening to them play covers as late teens/young men always feels a bit like watching a soundcheck, or something like that.

But they had decent enough taste - most of their best covers being more pop leaning RnR choices rather than the blues they also listened to/hero worshipped, which is totally understandable given their obvious love for hooks!
