I checked sales figures late last year to see how The Sound Of Confusion compared. I know another blog gets 30,000 hits per month - 20,000 of which were unique hits.
We'd passed 100,000 - so if you assume an average of 2/3rds unique hits then we probably had 65,000+
I think that says it all. A pissy little blog run by a bloke on an island in the middle of nowhere is getting more readers than paid for magazines. Imagine what the big music sites must get? I know digital Spy gets 1.3 million hits a day...
It's not NME, it's all print media. I was reading earlier that Empire magazine and stuff are well down too. They tried to gloss over the NME thing by mentioning that people can buy an online version. They currently have around 1,300 subscribers to that...
