good bands of the same name, so we're discounting the likes of The Monks a great band with a shit namesake. The most unlikely name I've come across to be used by two bands is Art Phag, originally the name of grunge punk band from Flint, Michigan and now used by a really lame dance act. Sure there must be lots of candidates for this thread.
