My sisters and I did the exact same thing. The only thing that annoyed me in that interview was when he mentioned the whole 'man should not lie with man' scenario disguising it with a 'give women a try.' The bible has never mentioned this - ever.
For some reason religious organisations/individuals still insist on using their status/influence to 'queer bash.' I find it fascinating. He has made me justify the decision that I made to renounce my faith.
He's not mad, he's vulnerable. How easy for a man to 'devote' his life to god when he comes from wealth and has a few spare bob lying around. I always find the born again christians the most irritating. They're like the reformed smokers. Gagging to sin/to smoke and trying to drag everybody down to their form of 'hell' that they created themselves.

these aren't my views.

there are mentions of homosexuality in the Bible as we know it, and generally these mentions frown upon it. but i think overall The Bible often acts as a mirror for people and feeds into traits that are already there inside them.

for instance, if you're a hateful, angry homophobe, you will probably feel that The Bible 'backs you up' and 'oks' these views. however, if you believe that everybody should be treated equally and noone should be judged by each other, you will probably find The Bible supports you in that stance.

some people read The Bible and it helps them gain perspective in life. other people read The Bible and then turn into a serial killer.

I didn’t have you down as a bible basher José! I think it’s strange that there’s this gang of single men knocking around the New Testament, with their nicely trimmed beards (according to the jehovah’s witness leaflet that fell through my door last week) and no-one thinks it odd that none of them has a crack at Mary Magdelene! I’m waiting for Quentin Tarantino to reinterpret the Bible as a homoerotic epic!

Personally I think this fella has promoted more religious hatred than a fair few of these Muslim clerics we hear nasty things about. Basically he used to stand there on Oxford Street with his megaphone telling us we were all cunts because we spent our Sundays "consuming" rather than being in church and that everyone who doesn't believe in Christianity is a sinner. If he wants to think that, fine, but for a church to pay him to stand there and force it down my fucking throat when I'm doing a bit of shopping is absolutely despicable and I'm glad that he got thrown off the fucking streets.

I love seeing people out there on a Saturday morning preaching about how wonderful the world of God is and how it can bring joy into your life. He is the antithesis of this and I wouldn't care less if he got banged up for years under some sub-section of the terrorist act because if we are in an age where we're defining people who promote (and incite) religious-based hatred as terrorists then he should be right at the top of the fucking pile...

I think faith is a good thing generally (I wish I had some). However, you should question why so many people feel the need to push it down other people’s throats. There’s a theory that it is to convince themselves: they have doubts about the whole thing so feel the need to be as zealous as possible to offset these doubts.

You don’t see people wondering round Oxford Street with a megaphone shouting to anyone that will listen that the sun is hot. The reason? Because they know 100% that it is the truth. I imagine these religious-types often lie awake night wondering if they’ve backed the wrong horse; the more people they can convert, the less foolish they will seem if the whole thing turns out to be bullshit (see also: Islamic fundamentalists, Manic Street Preachers fans)

i find the specky guy with the speech impediment who preaches on oxford street infinitely more irritating than sinner or winner man. at least he has a bit of charisma. the specky guy is so fucking wet the mere sound of his dribbly, wimpy voice makes me want to strangle on sight.
