We haven't done this for while (if at all). Inspired by discovering that the Wave Pictures are from Wymeswold which is where my brother lives and just across the Notts/Leics border from where I grew up but is much the same (if a bit prettier). Friday Night in Loughborough does a great job of describing that "Oh God I've got to get out of here" feeling (though we'd go out in Nottingham).

Anyway the SPT ancestral home is in the largely unlovely village of Keyworth - home to the English headquarters of the British Geological Survey and the oldest example of herringbone brickwork in Europe

The church

The Barn

The main underage dringking den (back in the 80s that is, when it was owned by Forest scout Alan Hill) - also the location of pub scenes in short-lived Crossraods revival.

Anyone else from a similarly colourless place?

I dunno, that looks quite pleasant to me, SPT.

This is the only landmark in Whitefield, Manchester, where I was born:

My teens were spent down in Poole, which is a tad nicer...

The only landmark in Clapton these days is Clapton Pond. Everything else of note (including me) has gone.

Clapton was merged into Hackney in the late 60's so this is the defining landmark for me. Finally went into this building as part of Open Spaces the other year. One of my ambitions - sad eh?

Despite now being surrounded by Countryside I miss the ol' Marshes.

I was born here:

And for the first few years of my life I lived in the town where this pub is:

Went to visit my grandfather just before he died and nipped out to watch Wales-Ireland rugby in that boozer a few years ago.

Moved here when I was fairly young (6) - back to where my family originally hailed from:

The house on the right of the picture was where I grew up!
