Now. I had an awesome time and it was a fantastic day out. But the actual festival itself was an absolute shambles. Bola's right about the queing... after 2pm the bar queue was about 20 deep for the whole day. It took an HOUR to get served. Then the toilet queues were an absolute joke and they started overflowing - it was alright for the gents but the poor ladies had to queue up for about an hour just to have a piss. Then there were the queues for the food... and also all the bands only played for about half hour each (unless you were Fanfarlo who got about 15 minutes). The sound was DREADFUL, the main stage was way too quiet - I was having a perfectly audible chat with my mates girlfriend about her long term career plans during Justice for fuck's sake... and they were headlining. Yeah I know Victoria Park is essentially a residential area so I understand that but... don't put a fucking festival there then. And unless you were 10 people from the front of the Homefires stage then you couldn't hear a fucking thing. And the Beetroot tent was way too small... I think by about 9 most people had given up and left (so I could finally get a fucking pint...)

Anyway, that said I had a glorious day in the sunshine and I was finding friends at every turn.... I had a fantastic time but it was nothing to do with the festival itself... jesus. Such a shame. Next year I hope they sort it out 'cos it's got immense potential. I could kinda see the look on Adem's face like "I'm sorry I put my name to something so shoddy..."

Then went to Feeling Gloomy afterwards. This was great until I bumped into tim and preceeded to make an absolute arse of myself in front of him and his lady friend... good to see ya pal but I apologise profusely!

Musically I found it a very poor event with the exception of Fanfarlo and The Concretes. Even Absentee had an off day.

The sound was poor but to be honest if I could get a beer I would have stayed and chilled out but after copious amounts of coca cola I pissed off after The Aliens (who were so so dreadful) to the pub to watch the football. I won't be going again.

By the way Westie head to the Horse & Groom this coming Thursday for Swedish indie popsters Liechtenstein who party like it's 1986!

Agree with alot of the comments here, although I did enjoy quite alot of the bands that I saw, just could have done with them playing a bit longer.

I've just had a look at some of discussions going on over the internet, and there seems to be widespread disappointment / anger over how badly organised it was.

I think EYOE really screwed up on this, and their reputation has been hit badly. Makes you wonder if they'll bother with it next year. They've issued a very brief apology on their Myspace page, but doesn't really cut much mustard (some of the other comments are quite amusing though).

Didn't queue once for lavy
Most we waited for drinks was one minute
Queued for ten seconds to get in
Was fuckin LOUD (during Chrome Hoof my head felt like it'd explode - and I had earplugs in)
Got to dress up like a twit.

Only downside was it was in Port Talbot
and if it had've rained it would have been a nightmare.

Was a bit pissed we had to miss Field Day but it sounds like we didn't miss much.
