Berbatov has come good this season - not far behind Bale for PotY so far - but bearing in mind the huge fee, he was a Forlan-esq laughing stock for the two previous seasons (although still some way behind Robinho and Santa Cruz, natch!).

I think it'll all now come good for Liverpool this season - Suarez could be a real bargain and Carroll will be better off being Billy NoMates in a new town for a while. However they'll still only get 6th.

Well I for one am very glad that the football has started again after the none-more-tedious media gossip group wank that is the transfer window.

Further additions to the world's biggest probably-not-good enough-for-the Premiership-but-fine-for-the-Championship striker bank notwithstanding, a couple of decent bits of business done by Forest. Konchesky has experience and has to be a decent bet at our level. And it made sesnse to resist the false economy of getting some money for Kelvin Wilson before he goes to Celtic on a free in the summer (he is the only central defensive cover and we'd never have got anyone in even half has good for the reduced feee that we'd have got for him).

Still we're heading for the point in the season where we ran aground last time out. Fingers crossed...

It's interesting how Ferguson is popular with most, if not all, of the current (and a few ex) old school British managers of Premier League teams. Wenger on the other hand seems to be loathed (if respected for his talents). By coincidence, one is a very good player of the media and the other is utterly useless.
