I'm actually a bit baffled because the majority of my players were on wining sides but all generally picked up 2 points. It's the lowest week I've had I think. 31 points! That's even below the average! I'm mean none of these had shocking weekends did they?!

It's all in the stats, not the performances. The only difference between your side and mine really was that i picked Sturridge as captain and Lallana scored a goal. That was enough to beat you comfortably in the head to head though.

Loic Remy as captain secured a second straight win for my ex-Forest/Lens side who are off the bottom! Horses went down to them. (Not a good week for Man Utd fans it seems.)

I suspect relying on the form of a Toon striker doesn't have along term future as a successs strategy though.

I know it's the stats - but I've gone for players who score lots of goals - like Sturridge and RVP, and even defenders like Ivanovic knock the odd one in, also Michu was banging in the goals before but has stopped it seems. Ramires, Carrick, Barkley - all good for assists and the odd goal themselves

Plus I've gone for mostly players from the top 4 or 5 teams (not in the league currently, but as a rule) like Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd, even Liverpool who've been doing well, because they, naturally, concede less goals! Mingolet had me loads of points until this week. So the players are designed to get points rather than just play well.

RVP has been my captain, but he's not looking fully fit after his injury yet. He was down as a doubt for the game on Saturday anyway. Should have swapped it to Sturridge.

It's been the weird run of results that's screwed it up. City, Chelsea, Utd - all dropping points.

I'm not going to get rid of RVP and grab someone from Southampton because they're on a good run - if I do it's bound to all return to normal next weekend!

It was the captain thing I meant really. It's pretty much chance and can make huge difference. I s'pose it rewarded me for transferring in Sturridge this week. If it gave you the double points for whichever of your captain or vice-captain did better it would make it a bit less frustrating.

Still, go Remy!

The annoying thing is Sturridge is my vice behind RVP! Swap them over and he'll get injured and be out for a month or something...

UEFA have been smoking weed again...

Apart from the guaranteed season 1 relegation of England, it would also be extremely boring. I much prefer seeing England pitted in friendlies against Brazil, Nigeria, Mexico, etc than other European teams. And how is Scotland v Armenia good for anyone?

I'd love to see San Marino and The Faroe Islands slug it out over a 2 leg nil-nil draw with no attempts on goal from either team.

Well I wasn't expecting that. I could almost support that England. Fast, skilful, attacking down the wings or using a deep lying centre forward rather than just lumping it down the middle to a big un. Most surprising and welcome. Reminded me of United under Lord Ferg before Agent Moyes started.

Thing is, England have always had the ability to do that, but for the past few years none of them seem to have really given a shit what happens to England (not since Beckham anyway) so they invariably go out there and wonder round looking like they can't really be arsed. Last night they played with some passion for once, and on Friday. That's the difference. There have been a couple of games where the team selection may have been more defensive but we've always had players who can get forward and score goals and create chances, many of whom are still in the side now like Cole (injured but would probably play otherwise, and certainly be in the squad), Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, and generally whoever is up front with Rooney too. They can all run at defences, slot balls through and finish. It's why they weren't bothering to do it that we need to look at. Woy seems to have got them motivated somehow where everyone since, oddy, Sven has failed.

Has Wossy took over your body? :D

Anyway I agree with Bovey - I loved it, every minute of it. I love Roy, loved seeing him jump about. Can't wait for Brazil. I think this team are true contenders. Also the scottish and welsh are very quiet in work today - this pleases me.
Was lovely to hear the Polish fans saying that England are their second team and wearing dual flags. I work with quite a few polish people and they still can't work out why the scottish at work wanted the polish to win over england. Quite, quite.

Only caught the last 20 mins last night. It's not a question of whether we're contenders or not (we almost certainly aren't), but whether the games are worth watching and give you something to get behind and support. England did that on Friday, and apparently did so again last night.

The 0-0 against Ukraine was pretty much the worst excuse for a football match I have ever seen. Another one of those over this weekend and I'd have switched off for good, regardless of results.

England have been so paranoid about losing possession these last few years, that they've been scared to move the ball outside of their own half until pressed by the opposition into hoofing it long. Anybody else think that the rest of the players looked at Townsend's attitude in the last two games and have actually realised that they've nothing to lose by taking a more 'nothing ventured nothing gained approach'?

Looks like Tony Pulis and that baseball cap of his will be in the dugout at Selhurst by the weekend, Bov.

Bet you can't wait.
