Right I've got my crystal balls out. They're a bit murky as I've not used them for a while so feel free to buff and polish them back to their spangly best. Ahem, so who's going to be big in 2008? This thread will then be put in a timecapsule and buried under my shed till 1st of January when we'll dig it up and laugh at the stupidity of the suggestions. Who's going to be big? I know who i'd like to make it but that's not the way the music cookie crumbles. So big wise there's going to be a comeback continuation from boy bands, girl bands and mixed bands flying on the coat tails of Take That's success. We did the solo girl thing last year so the spotlight will be back on the solo male this year (it never left it but it will be truly on it this year) - look out for Lily Allens with cocks. Dirty electro with a slaggy bass line and a cheeky twist of tramp pop is the dream for me this year. But i'm with José on this one - I think hidden gems will rise to the surface and slap us in the chops. |

Fuck, I forgot HOCKEY NIGHT - they were supposed to be one of the bands of 2006 but good things take a little time www.myspace.com/hockeynight - but they pulled their new stuff off there recently but it's a blizzard of psychedlia, Pavement, Thin Lizzy and erm The Allman Brothers |
