I'm gutted I missed this... sounds like it speaks my mind entirely. 9/11 conspiracy banter really gets my goat... |

Very good prog. There was a lot of stuff in there I wasn't aware of - most notably that flight on the same path as the one to San Fran and was mistaken for the hijacked plane... My fave conspiracy though is the X-Files episode attempting to pre-warn the public about the attacks... How cool would it be if that WAS the truth Also watched the Kurt Cobain thing afterwards, which brought back a lot of memories... Just woken up the missus by playing Love Buzz really loudly, she came downstairs and found me playing air guitar and about to jump onto the sofa to simulate Kurt jumping into drum kit ... (Yes, I am a bit pissed, but that's inexcusable behaviour for a 32 year old adult) |

found that kurt thing heartbreaking actually. i was big fan of the music at the time and my apperciation for them has continued to grow over recent years. for all that though even at the time but i never bought into the hero worship stuff and kept a healthy distance from the cult of kurt. for some reason watching that thing last night really deeply moved me. i went to bed and couldn't sleep for thinking about it, when i did sleep i dreamed about it and now today i am still feeling affected. poor old kurt. ![]() |

Yes, I’ll second that. Nirvana were hugely important top me at the time but I’ve kept it at arms’ length ever since to avoid the memories being tarred by all the inevitable posthumous exploitation (“Paint a vulgar picture” etc.) What that prog did hammer home is the contradiction at the heart of the Cobain story. On the one hand he seemed to only crave cult success (quote: “we only wanted to be as big as The Melvins”) and was horrified by the superstardom, “voice of a generation” thing. On the other, he clearly chased the rock star dream .. “Nevermind” was deliberately commercial; there’s even stories that he and the band spent their days phoning radio stations requesting that their songs are played Re-read his suicide note too last night... |

That link is not working for me, Matty. I missed all this. In the 9/11 one did they talk about the strategically placed bombs that were let off and the fact that they were responsible for the buildings collapsing, not the aircraft? I love a conspiracy theory. As for Kurt, loved some of his music, feel sorry that he could not get his shit together but to me suicide is a luxury you cannot afford when you have children. We all go through hard times - life is testing - you have to fight to stay on top for the sake of your offspring. That's if it was suicide. Did they talk about that in this documentary? And Matty there is never any inexcusable behaviour. It's ok to grow up, just don't grow old* *Cocker. |

This thread is a conspiracy. Kurt Cobain was a 9/11 bomber and you are all covering it up. ![]() |

I hope that they repeat that 9/11 thing. Aw, don't be haunted, Dookers, it's life. Roll down a big hill, I promise that you'll feel better (make sure your path is clear of doggie doo though) |

I love conspiracy stuff … As someone mentioned in that prog last night, the real reason these bizarre theories take hold is because people just can’t get their head around the truth ( 12 religious nutters flying planes into buildings is a tough thing to get your head round) That said, some conspiracies ARE true. Including: - The moon landing was filmed in a studio in Hollywood - Princess Diana was murdered by the British establishment to prevent her marrying a "darkie" - The Arctic Monkeys is a record industry wheeze and all their songs are actually written by Carter USM |
