Jeeez, I was thinking about this just the other day but, well, I have a memory like a sieve and it seems to have all vanished.... hmmm... The Clash were masters of covers, they really made the songs their own... but I can't think of one that was actually better than the original. Debateable but The White Stripes - Stop Breaking Down Blues. The Radio 1 version for Lamacq in particular, is a blistering version. ... I also really like The Detroit Cobras - Last Night ... And The Who's - Summertime Blues Difficult to say whether they're better than the originals though. |
