Sadly the RIAA are at it again across the pond and are now targeting legal radio services in order to pass on profits to their shareholders, sorry I meant developing artists. Unless anything changes before the 15th May the RIAA will see an increase between 300 and 1200 % per track played which will surely see them biting the hands that feeds as many stations, including ours using live 365 will go to the wall. This will see our costs rise threefold, maybe more and as it is not cost effective Sounds XP radio will close tomorrow on the 5th May 2007. Thanks to all those who have tuned in. We will look at other methods although it gives us a kick up the butt to improve our podcasts! More information . |
